RS3 Alpha VS Omega Requirements and Foe
To kick this quest guide off, we'll first explore the necessities of Alpha vs. Omega in RS3. We'll begin by discussing the quest requirements for participation. As it stands, there are no listed skill requirements for this quest.
Quest Requirements
You'll need to have completed all of the previous quests within The First Necromancer quest series, as well as the following:
- Diamond in the Rough
- Ghost Ahoy
- The Jack of Spades
- Stolen Hearts
- Vengeance (saga)
- Nadir (saga)
Accompanying these requirements, you must also have 3,000 City of Um vessel souls.
Item Requirements
The item requirements for this quest are fortunately minimal, with you only needing Necromancy combat equipment in your inventory. Now that we've covered all the essentials, let's look at who you'll face in the RS3 Alpha vs. Omega quest.
Enemies Ahead
As this is the finale of The First Necromancer storyline, it's expected the battle will have some familiar faces. Those being Hermod, the Spirit of War (level 732), and Rasial, the First Necromancer (level 8,462). Something else to consider before you begin this quest is that upon dying, you will lose all items. There are two ways to retrieve them: the first is to speak with Death, and the second is to go to your gravestone.
With whom you'll be facing established, we'll now move on to the steps taken to navigate this exciting endgame.
Getting Started With the RS3 Alpha vs. Omega Quest
You'll first want to locate Rasial; he is located on the bridge within the City of Um. When you approach, he will tell you he believes he is finally ready to face you at his citadel. Your next task is to speak with Kharen at the city's docks for passage to the citadel.
The Henchmen
Upon arriving, Rasial will send Hermod, accompanied by four skeleton warriors and two putrid zombies, to attack you. Face Hermod in the same way you did when battling in Spirit of War; his actions will be the same, the only difference being his company. Fortunately, this time around, you won't have to defeat them in order to inflict damage to him.
The Big Boss
Once you're through with his sidekicks, Rasial will begin his own attack. It's worth noting that although he is weaker than his post-quest self, he is not to be underestimated, as he does possess the same mechanics. We have listed the attacks to be expected below:
- Auto Attack
- Death Spark
- Dive
- Conjure Skeletal Warrior
- Conjure Putrid Zombie
- Touch of Death
- Finger of Death
- Spirit Wall
- Soul Obelisk
- Soul Slap
- Volley of Souls
- Spectral Scythe
If you want a full breakdown of the attacks, we have linked Rasials' strategies here.
During the fight, if Rasial drops below 100,000 life points, he will jump to the highest level of the citadel. Unfortunately, you will be unable to access this area, though Necromancy abilities and conjures can still be used to make hits. During his time at the top of the citadel, he will remain stationary while continuing to use auto attacks.
At the same time, Necrotic Explosions will erupt from below the floor; they will follow your movements, so ensure you remain agile. If you happen to take a hit, they will inflict Necromancy damage and disable any active Protection Prayers.
While all of this is going on, Rasial will lose the ability to use all other attacks; the only thing that will persist is The Soul Obelisk. The Obelisk will become immune to damage and no longer grant Rasial Residual Soul stacks.
In the center of the action, you must keep moving to avoid the explosions, all the while keeping your attacks on Rasial coming. You may want to consider using Soul Split and make use of the Greater Bone Shield for its defensive abilities; the combination of dodging and attacking regularly can prove difficult.
Once his health is low, you can use Invoke Death to apply Death Mark to inflict insta-kill and end his reign once and for all.
The Sweet Taste of Victory!
After a no-doubt strenuous battle, this RS3 Alpha vs. Omega quest is almost at an end. When the fight is done, Rasials' physical form has been destroyed; however, he will then appear as the apparition of a giant head.
He will tell you Gielinor, along with the entire universe, is in danger, that the shadows are the face behind this danger, and that his true intentions behind your apprenticeship were all a test. After which, he will free the ensouled slaves before disappearing. Once you're alone once more, head back to the City of Um to speak with Death, learn more about Rasial's past, and conclude the quest.
