The Huge Hippo is a legendary pet in Grow a Garden. It came out on November 8th, 2025, in the second part of the Safari Harvest Event. In the game, it comes from the Safari Merchant shop.

This pet has two helpful passives. The first is Watermelon Chomber. Every 8 minutes, the Hippo eats a Watermelon and sells it for 1.5 times more value. There is also a chance to get the seed back. The second is Monsoon Beast. Every 20 minutes, the Hippo applies the Monsoon mutation to a random crop in your garden.

These passives make the Hippo a strong pick for players who grow Watermelons. It turns your crops into extra sheckles and adds a rare mutation without any work from you. The pet has a hunger stat of 120,000.

The Hippo has a big body with four legs and three cube-shaped nails on each foot. Its head is cube-shaped with a long snout, black eyes, nostrils, and small ears on top. It is a fun and useful pet for any Grow a Garden player who wants more value from their farm.
