Description
The Magpie is a legendary pet in Grow a Garden. It came with the Trader Event and looks like a real magpie. It hatches from the Gem Chest with a 14.5% chance. The Gem Chest comes from Trader Troy, an event NPC at the center of the map.
The Magpie has a passive ability called Shiny Eye. When you sell a silver fruit, it has a 7.09% chance to give you a random reward. This chance can grow up to 30%. Rewards include eggs, Harvest Tools, Reclaimers, treats, toys, coal, and strong sprinklers like the Godly, Master, and Grandmaster Sprinklers. It can also drop a Levelup Lollipop.
The Magpie works best with pets that turn plants silver. The Cockatrice turns many plants silver about every 16 minutes. The Silver Dragonfly turns one plant silver every 8 minutes, or 5 minutes if it is Giant. Silver Monkeys can refund fruit when selling, and Giant Ants can duplicate fruit on harvest.
The Magpie is the best pet for farming gears, giving a total of 12 gears. It has a hunger of 10,000.
