The Smithing Dog is a rare pet in Grow a Garden. It came from the Smithing Event on November 15th, 2025. Players crafted it with 1 Dog, 2 Rare Coal, and 3,000,000 in game currency. It can no longer be made in the game, so it is a rare find.
This pet looks like the normal Dog pet, but with black ears, a black snout, and a black tail. It also wears black goggles on its forehead. The goggles have light blue squares on them.
The Smithing Dog has a passive ability called Smithing Digging. Every 10 to 15 minutes, it has a 10% to 15% chance to dig up a coal. Most other dogs dig up seeds, but this one digs up coal instead. The digs fail more often than they work, so it is not a fast way to get coal. It is still a fun bonus over time.
The pet has a hunger stat of 1500. Since the event is over, the Smithing Dog is a nice pick for players who want a rare pet with a unique look and a coal digging skill.
