The Adamant chainbody is a body armour piece in Old School RuneScape. It is made from adamantite and looks like a series of connected metal rings. It is a free-to-play item, so any player can use it. You need level 30 Defence to wear it.
This chainbody gives solid defence for its tier. It has +36 stab defence, +50 slash defence, +61 crush defence, and +38 ranged defence. Its crush defence is its strongest stat, which helps against monsters that use crush attacks. It has a small magic penalty of -15 to attack and -3 to defence, so it is not a good pick for casting spells.
Players can smith this armour with level 81 Smithing. It takes 3 adamantite bars and a hammer at an anvil, and it gives 187.5 Smithing experience. It can also be bought from Wayne's Chains in south Falador. One adamant chainbody is needed for the Song of the Elves quest, so it is worth keeping one around.
The item is tradeable, equipable, and noteable. It weighs 7.7 kg and was released on 4 January 2001.
