Description
Adamantite ore is a Smithing material in Old School RuneScape. Players use it to make adamantite bars, which are needed to smith adamant weapons and armour. It is tradeable and noteable, and it is available to both free-to-play and members players.
To mine adamantite ore yourself, you need level 70 Mining. Each rock gives 95 Mining experience but takes four minutes to respawn, so gathering it by hand is slow. Buying the ore skips that long wait and saves hours of mining time.
With level 70 Smithing, one adamantite ore and six coal can be smelted into an adamantite bar at a furnace for 37.5 Smithing experience. At the Blast Furnace, only three coal are needed per bar, which makes it a cheaper way to train.
Adamantite ore is a solid pick for players training Smithing past level 70 or stocking up on bars for high-level gear. It weighs 2.721 kg, a bit more than other smithing ores. Its item ID is 449, and it has been part of the game since 4 January 2001.
