Description
The black longsword is a melee weapon in Old School RuneScape. It is a razor sharp longsword that only needs 10 Attack to wield. That makes it a solid pick for low level accounts and new characters.
This sword is stronger than the steel longsword and sits just below the mithril longsword. It gives +13 stab, +18 slash, and a +16 strength bonus. It also adds small defence bonuses of +3 against slash and +2 against crush. The stats match the white longsword, minus that sword's +1 prayer bonus.
The black longsword has four combat styles. Chop and Slash use slash attacks. Lunge uses a stab attack and trains Attack, Strength, and Defence at the same time. Block trains Defence. This lets players train the skill they want with one weapon.
Like all black gear, this sword cannot be made with the Smithing skill. In game, it can drop from monsters like Cyclops, Shadow Warriors, and Skeletons, or come from level 1 treasure trails. It weighs about 1.8 kg, so it is light and easy to carry.
