Description

Black nails are a stackable item in Old School RuneScape. Players cannot make them, which makes them different from other nails. They weigh nothing, so they are easy to carry in large amounts.

Black nails have a few good uses. With 38 Fletching, players can use them on flighted ogre arrows to make black brutal arrows. Each arrow gives 6.5 Fletching experience. Six nails and six flighted ogre arrows make six black brutal arrows for 39 XP. Black nails are also needed to make broodoo shields. Each shield takes 8 black nails, 2 snakeskin, and a tribal mask. This needs level 35 and gives 100 XP. Players can also use black nails to build some types of wooden furniture.

In the game, black nails come from thieving ogre coffins, as a drop from zombies in Tarn's Lair, or from clearing rubble during the In Aid of the Myreque quest. Buying them saves players the time it takes to gather them this way.

Black nails are tradeable and can be sold on the Grand Exchange. They are a smart pick for players training Fletching or making broodoo shields.
