The Black pickaxe is a tool in Old School RuneScape. It mines rocks on a 5-tick cycle. That is one tick faster than the steel pickaxe and the same speed as the mithril pickaxe. You need 11 Mining to mine with it and 10 Attack to wield it.

This is the lightest pickaxe in the game. It weighs only 0.01 kg. That makes it a great pick for tasks where you run a lot, like questing and training Runecraft through the Abyss or Dense Essence Mining.

You can also use it as a weapon. It has a +10 stab bonus, a +8 crush bonus, and a +11 strength bonus. It has four combat styles: Spike, Impale, Smash, and Block.

The Black pickaxe is a possible reward from beginner and easy Treasure Trails. You can store it in the treasure chest of a costume room in your player-owned house. It trades on the Grand Exchange with a buy limit of 4 every 4 hours.
