Description
The Mithril pickaxe is a mid-level mining tool in Old School RuneScape. You need level 21 Mining to mine with it and level 20 Attack to wield it. It mines on a 5-tick cycle. That makes it 1 tick faster than the steel pickaxe and the same speed as the black pickaxe.
This pickaxe is one of the lightest in the game at 1.814 kg. Only the black pickaxe is lighter. The low weight makes it a good pick for training Runecraft through the Abyss, where you want to save run energy.
You can also use it as a weapon. It has +12 stab, +10 crush, and +13 strength bonuses. It offers four combat styles: Spike, Impale, Smash, and Block.
The Mithril pickaxe drops from Dagannoth Rex, the Possessed pickaxe in the Catacombs of Kourend, earth implings, eclectic implings, zombies in Tarn's Lair, and the chest in the Isle of Souls Dungeon. It is tradeable, equipable, and noteable. It is available to free players and members. The item was released on 27 May 2003.
