Description

The Blue crab is an item in Old School RuneScape. Players catch blue crabs by crab trapping on The Great Conch. This needs level 48 Hunter and gives 136 Hunter experience per catch. To trap a crab, build a crab trap over an empty hole and bait it with fish offcuts. Blue crabs do not fight back when you try to trap them.

This crab has two main uses. You can prepare it with a knife to get raw blue crab meat. That meat can be cooked into blue crab meat at level 48 Cooking. You can also grind the crab with a pestle and mortar to make crab paste. Crab paste is a Herblore secondary used to make anti-odour salt and super hunter potions.

Blue crabs spawn on The Great Conch. There are 21 spawns on the north coast and 16 spawns on the east coast. The item weighs 0.6 kg.
