Description

Bread dough is a basic Cooking item in Old School RuneScape. It is uncooked dough made by mixing a pot of flour with water. The water can come from a bucket, a bowl, or a jug. Its examine text reads "Some uncooked dough."

Use bread dough on a cooking range to bake a loaf of bread. This needs only level 1 Cooking and gives 40 experience when the bake works. There is a chance to burn the bread, which gives no experience. The burn chance drops as your Cooking level goes up. Bread stops burning at level 38, or level 34 on the Lumbridge Castle range after Cook's Assistant.

Bread heals 5 hitpoints when eaten, so it is a cheap early food. Bread is also used in quests like Merlin's Crystal, Death Plateau, Olaf's Quest, Below Ice Mountain, and two Recipe for Disaster subquests.

Bread dough is tradeable and noteable, but it does not stack and cannot be worn. It weighs 0.6 kg. It can also drop from imps. This item is a simple way to train early Cooking levels or stock up on low cost food.
