The holy symbol is an amulet in Old School RuneScape that bears the symbol of Saradomin. It gives a +8 prayer bonus and +2 to all defence bonuses. That prayer bonus is the third highest for any amulet in the game, behind only the god stoles and the dragonbone necklace.
Players often wear the holy symbol with Proselyte armour and other high prayer armour. This setup helps protect prayers last longer while training, so it is a smart pick for prayer-based defence.
The holy symbol has other handy uses too. Wearing it while a Feral Vampyre attacks can lower that monster's Attack, Strength, Defence, and Magic by 25%. It also lets players use a prayer book to cure poison. In the God Wars Dungeon, it counts as a Saradominist item, which helps keep Saradomin followers from attacking.
The holy symbol is also required for two quests, Animal Magnetism and The Great Brain Robbery. It is light at just 0.007 kg, and it is tradeable, equipable, and noteable. Any player who trains with prayer or plans these quests will get good value from this amulet.
