Description
The iron med helm is a medium helmet in Old School RuneScape. It goes in the head slot and gives your character basic protection early in the game. It is a free-to-play item, so any player can wear it. It is tradeable and noteable, and it weighs 1.8 kg.
This helmet gives solid defence for its level. It has +4 Stab defence, +5 Slash defence, +3 Crush defence, and +4 Ranged defence. It has -1 Magic defence and -3 Magic attack, so it is not a good pick for spellcasting.
Players with level 18 Smithing can make this helmet. Use one iron bar on an anvil while carrying a hammer. This gives 25 Smithing experience. You can also buy one at the Helmet Shop in the Barbarian Village.
The iron med helm is also used in two Treasure Trails clues. An Easy clue asks for the Clap emote on the bridge to the Wizards' Tower. A Medium clue asks for the Shrug and Yawn emotes outside the bank in Catherby. Keep one in your bank so you are ready when these clues show up.
