Description

Iron platelegs are melee leg armour in Old School RuneScape. They are made of iron and protect your legs in combat. There is no Defence level needed to wear them, so any player can put them on right away. Many players skip bronze gear and start with iron instead.

These platelegs give solid early defence. They add +11 to stab defence, +10 to slash, +10 to crush, and +10 to ranged defence. They lower magic defence by 4. They also lower magic attack by 21 and ranged attack by 11, so they work best for melee fighters.

Iron platelegs have the same defence stats as an iron plateskirt, but they weigh more at about 9 kg. Players with level 31 Smithing can make them at an anvil with 3 iron bars for 75 experience. They can also drop from Ice giants and Animated Iron Armour, or be bought at Louie's Armoured Legs Bazaar in Al Kharid and Horvik's Armour Shop in Varrock.

These platelegs are also needed for an Easy Treasure Trail emote clue east of the Legends' Guild gates. They are a simple and useful pick for new melee builds.
