Leather chaps are leg armor in Old School RuneScape. They protect against melee attacks and work well for low-level players. Players can make leather chaps with the Crafting skill, or get them from other players or NPCs.

Wearing leather chaps is simple. Open your inventory, find the chaps, right-click them, and pick Wear. They will appear on your character's legs and add extra defense against melee hits.

Leather chaps can wear down over time. A Tanner can fix them for a small fee. Tanners can be found in Al Kharid, Canifis, and the Crafting Guild. Talk to the Tanner and choose the Repair option. This brings the chaps back to full strength.

You can also change how your leather chaps look. Colored dyes change the color of the chaps. Dyes can be bought from other players or dropped by certain monsters. Use a dye on the chaps to give them a new color.
