Description

Leather chaps are leg armour in Old School RuneScape. They are worn in the legs slot and are a common pick for low-level rangers. Low-level mages also like them because the chaps give a small defence boost without any magic attack penalty.

The chaps give a +4 Ranged attack bonus. They also add defence bonuses of +2 Stab, +2 Slash, and +1 Crush.

Players can make leather chaps at level 18 Crafting. Making them uses one leather and one thread and gives 27 Crafting XP. Later, at level 44 Crafting, the chaps can be upgraded into Studded chaps with one set of steel studs for 42 XP.

Leather chaps also show up in Treasure Trails. Several easy clue scroll emote steps ask players to wear them, like the bow emote in Mubariz's ticket office or the spin emote north of Rimmington. Charlie the Tramp may also ask for leather chaps as part of a beginner clue step.

These chaps are a simple, useful item for new rangers, mages, and clue scroll hunters in OSRS.
