The Magic shield is a wooden shield in Old School RuneScape. You need at least level 40 Defence to wear it. It fits in the shield slot and gives solid protection in melee fights.
The shield gives +10 Stab, +13 Slash, and +9 Crush defence. It also adds +3 Magic and +9 Ranged defence. It has no attack bonuses, so it is a pure defence item.
Players can make this shield with the Fletching skill. You need level 87 Fletching and two magic logs. Use a knife on the logs to craft it. Making one gives 183 Fletching experience and takes 4.2 seconds.
The Magic shield is more than just armor. It is the base item for making a red d'hide shield. It is also used to create Vale offerings, which need four magic shields plus other materials.
