Description

The Mahogany bird house is a members only item in Old School RuneScape. Players use it to set bird house traps on Fossil Island. You need level 49 Hunter to place one in a bird house space.

Once placed, the bird house needs seeds as bait. You can use 10 hop seeds, 10 allotment seeds, 10 flower seeds, or 10 low level herb seeds like guam, marrentill, tarromin, or harralander. You can also use 5 high level herb seeds, ranarr or above, or just 5 wildblood seeds. After about 50 minutes, the bird house fills up with birds. Emptying a full bird house gives 960 Hunter experience.

This item can also be made with level 50 Crafting. Use mahogany logs on a clockwork while holding a chisel and hammer. Making one gives 40 Crafting experience.

Bird houses are a popular way to train Hunter over time since they work on their own while you do other things. The Mahogany bird house is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to move and store. It cannot be equipped or stacked.
