The manta ray is one of the best foods in Old School RuneScape. Eating one restores 22 Hitpoints in a single bite. Only the marlin heals more in one instant bite. This makes manta rays a top choice for bossing, raids, player versus player fights, and hard slayer tasks.

Getting manta rays on your own takes a lot of work. Raw manta rays require level 81 Fishing to catch at the Fishing Trawler. Cooking one requires level 91 Cooking and can still burn until high levels. Only the Cooking cape stops burning them completely. Buying them skips all of that grind.

Manta rays are tradeable and can be noted, so they are easy to move and store. Each one weighs only 0.4 kg, so a full inventory stays light. They are members-only content and a staple food for high level players.
