Description
Nickel ore is a members-only ore in Old School RuneScape. Players mine it from nickel rocks at level 74 Mining. Each ore gives 80.5 Mining experience. The rocks are found on islands you can reach with level 67 Sailing, such as Deepfin Point, Deepfin Mine, Ynysdail, and Grimstone.
Nickel ore is used in Smithing. One nickel ore and two copper ore can be smelted into a cupronickel bar at level 74 Smithing. This gives 42 Smithing experience. You can smelt it at a normal furnace, the Blast Furnace, or with the Superheat Item spell.
Nickel rocks are special. One rock can give between 2 and 16 ores before it runs out. Varrock armour 4 gives a 10% chance to mine an extra ore, but other mining boosts do not work here. At high Mining levels, players can earn around 25k to 28k experience per hour.
Nickel ore is tradeable on the Grand Exchange and can be noted. It is not stackable and cannot be worn. Buying nickel ore saves time for players who want to train Smithing or make cupronickel bars without mining the ore themselves.
