Description
Copper ore is a basic raw material in Old School RuneScape. Its examine text says "This needs refining." Players mine it from copper rocks at level 1 Mining, and each ore gives 17.5 Mining experience. The rocks respawn fast, in just 2.4 seconds.
Copper ore is used to make bronze bars. One copper ore and one tin ore smelt into a bronze bar, which gives 6.2 Smithing experience. This is one of the first ways new players train Smithing. At level 74 Smithing, players can also mix two copper ore with one nickel ore to smelt a Cupronickel bar for 42 Smithing experience.
Copper ore is also needed for Doric's Quest, which asks for 4 copper ore. Buying the ore lets players skip the mining trips and get straight to smelting or quest work.
The ore is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to move around in bulk. It is not stackable and cannot be equipped. It weighs 2.267 kg per ore. Copper ore is a smart pick for anyone who wants to train early Smithing levels or stock up on materials for bronze bars.
