The Obsidian cape (r) is a rare cape in Old School RuneScape. It is made of woven obsidian plates. The (r) stands for red, though it first stood for reversed. That is because it looks like a normal obsidian cape with its colors flipped.

This cape comes from master Treasure Trails. It is a possible reward from a master reward casket, with a drop rate of 1 in 851. That makes it a rare item that few players own.

The cape gives +9 to all defence stats. That covers stab, slash, crush, magic, and ranged. It has no attack bonuses or other bonuses. Aside from its look, it works the same as a standard obsidian cape. It does not count as the obsidian cape needed for the master clue emote step at Zul-Andra.
