Description

Ogre arrow shafts are a Fletching item in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). They are the base part used to make ogre arrows and brutal arrows. Players who train Fletching or use ogre bows need these shafts.

To make ogre arrow shafts, you need level 5 Fletching and you must have started the quest Big Chompy Bird Hunting. First, cut an Achey tree to get Achey tree logs. Then use a knife on the logs. Each log gives a random number of shafts, between two and six, with about four on average. Each shaft made gives 1.6 Fletching experience, which works out to about 6.4 XP per log.

The shafts are used to make flighted ogre arrows. Combine 6 ogre arrow shafts with 24 feathers at level 5 Fletching to make them. This gives 5.4 Fletching XP. That means each shaft needs 4 feathers.

Ogre arrow shafts have the item ID 2864. Since a 2006 game update, the item looks different in your inventory based on how many you hold. Buying ogre arrow shafts saves time spent cutting Achey trees and fletching logs by hand.
