The oyster pearl is a small, round, milky-coloured semi-precious gem in Old School RuneScape. Players find it by opening oysters. It can also come from fishing with a big fishing net, playing the Fishing Trawler minigame, panning in the river at the Digsite, sorting large salvage, or killing various monsters.
The main use for an oyster pearl is Fletching. With level 41 Fletching, players can use a chisel on the pearl to make 6 pearl bolt tips. This gives 3.2 Fletching experience. The bolt tips can be attached to iron bolts to make pearl bolts, or to dragon bolts to make pearl dragon bolts.
This makes the oyster pearl a handy item for players who want to craft their own ranged ammo or train Fletching. Pearl bolts give crossbow users a solid ammo option without a high cost.
The oyster pearl weighs 0.002 kg, so it takes up almost no weight in your inventory. It is tradeable and noteable, which makes it easy to buy, sell, or carry in bulk. It is not stackable and cannot be equipped.
