Buy OSRS Raw monkfish

Description

Raw monkfish is a fish item in Old School RuneScape. Players catch it with a small fishing net at the Piscatoris Fishing Colony, which opens up after the Swan Song quest. Catching one needs at least level 62 Fishing and gives 120 Fishing experience.

Monkfish are a popular pick for training. They give 10 more Fishing experience per catch than sharks, and they are caught much faster. They also need a lower Fishing level than raw sharks. This makes monkfish a very efficient way to level up Fishing.

Raw monkfish can be cooked at level 62 Cooking for 150 experience per fish. Players stop burning them at level 92 on a fire, or 90 on a range. Cooking gauntlets lower that to 88, or 86 on a range. At level 90 with few burns, cooking monkfish gives about 200,000 Cooking experience per hour.

Cooked monkfish weigh less than sharks, so players who run a lot can carry them longer. Catching and cooking a monkfish is also needed for the hard Western Provinces Diary. Raw monkfish is a solid choice for training Cooking or stocking up on a useful food item.
