The Small fishing net is a basic Fishing tool in Old School RuneScape. It is the first net most players use when they start training the Fishing skill. With this net in your inventory, you can click on a net fishing spot to catch fish.
You can catch raw shrimps at level 1 Fishing and raw anchovies at level 15. The net also catches other fish like karambwanji, minnows, and monkfish. Shrimps give 10 experience per catch and anchovies give 40 experience per catch. Both fish need only level 1 Cooking to cook.
The Small fishing net has a second use in the Hunter skill. When paired with a rope, it lets you trap swamp lizards and salamanders. This makes it a handy tool for two skills instead of one.
