Description

The rock hammer is a Slayer tool in Old School RuneScape. You need it to kill gargoyles. Gargoyles are Slayer monsters that require level 75 Slayer to fight.

You can hurt gargoyles with a normal weapon. But when a gargoyle drops to 10 hitpoints or less, you must use the rock hammer to finish it off. Without the hammer, you cannot complete the kill.

There is one way around this. You can unlock the Gargoyle Smasher ability with 120 Slayer reward points. This makes your character use the hammer on its own to finish the kill. You still need the hammer in your inventory.

The rock hammer cannot be wielded as a weapon. It only has one job, and that is finishing off gargoyles. During the kill animation, your character slams their equipped weapon down instead of showing the hammer. Its look in your inventory is much like the granite maul.

The rock hammer weighs about 2.2 kg. If you plan to do a gargoyle Slayer task, this item is a must-have. Keep one with you and every gargoyle kill can be completed.
