Description

Rune boots are strong metal boots in Old School RuneScape. They are made of runite and need level 40 Defence to wear. They give good protection for your feet and a small boost to your power in melee combat.

These boots add +12 stab, +13 slash, and +14 crush defence. They also give a +2 strength bonus, so your melee hits can do more damage. They lower magic by 3 and ranged by 1, so they work best for melee fights. If you do not have 40 Defence, climbing boots give the same strength bonus but less defence.

Rune boots cannot be made with the Smithing skill. In the game, they only drop from Nechryael and their stronger forms, which need at least level 80 Slayer to fight. The drop is rare, so many players skip the long grind and just buy a pair.

Rune boots are also needed for one hard clue scroll and one elite clue scroll. This makes them a smart item to keep in your bank for clue hunting and for everyday melee training.
