Description

The Rune scimitar is one of the best melee weapons in Old School RuneScape. You need level 40 Attack to wield it. It is the strongest scimitar in free-to-play and the second strongest overall, behind only the Dragon scimitar.

This weapon is fast and hits hard. It attacks every 2.4 seconds and gives a +45 slash bonus and a +44 strength bonus. It matches the strength bonus of the Adamant 2h sword but swings much faster. That mix of speed and power makes it the top melee choice for most free-to-play combat.

The Rune scimitar has four combat styles. Chop and Slash use slash attacks, Lunge uses stab, and Block is for defense. You can train Attack, Strength, or Defence with it.

Players can also attach a Guthix, Saradomin, or Zamorak ornament kit from beginner Treasure Trails. The kit changes how the scimitar looks. The Saradomin and Zamorak versions also protect you from those factions in the God Wars Dungeon. You can remove the kit at any time and get both items back.
