Split logs are an item in Old School RuneScape. Players make them by using arctic pine logs on a woodcutting stump. You need level 56 Woodcutting to split the logs. Each log you split gives 5 Woodcutting experience, which adds up to 140 experience for a full inventory.
Split logs are needed to repair the bridges in the quest The Fremennik Isles. Outside of that quest and Woodcutting training, they have no other use. If you want to finish this quest, having split logs ready can save you time.
Players who wear Lumberjack clothing get bonus experience while splitting logs. You can also drop off split logs at the pile of logs north of the south-western bridge in Neitiznot, or in the bank chests, to free up inventory space.
Split logs are tradeable and noteable, so they are easy to move and store. Each log weighs about 1.8 kg. Buy split logs to skip the work of splitting arctic pine logs yourself and get right to the bridge repairs in The Fremennik Isles.
