The steel scimitar is a fast melee weapon in Old School RuneScape. Its examine text calls it "a vicious, curved sword." You only need level 5 Attack to wield it, so it is a strong pick for new players training combat.

This sword shines at slash attacks. It gives +15 Slash, +3 Stab, and +14 Strength. It swings once every 2.4 seconds, so it deals steady damage over time. You can pick from four combat styles: Chop and Slash for Attack and Strength training, Lunge for shared experience, and Block for Defence training.

Players with level 35 Smithing can make one at an anvil with two steel bars and a hammer. This gives 75 Smithing experience. It can also be bought from Zeke's Superior Scimitars in Al Kharid. Lesser Demons drop it as well, though not often.
