Description
The steel spear is a two-handed melee weapon in Old School RuneScape. It needs only 5 Attack to wield, so new members can use it early. It is a members-only item.
This spear gives a +12 bonus to stab, slash, and crush attacks, plus a +12 strength bonus. It is a fast weapon with an attack speed of 4 ticks, which is 2.4 seconds per hit. It offers four combat styles: Lunge, Swipe, Pound, and Block. The controlled styles train Attack, Strength, and Defence at the same time.
Like most spears, it can be poisoned. Variants include Poison, Poison+, Poison++, and Karambwan poison. A poisoned steel spear deals extra damage over time.
Players can buy the steel spear from the Mount Karuulm Weapon Shop or Fortis Blacksmith. It also drops from monsters and spawns at Neypotzli in Varlamore. Players with 35 Smithing who have started Barbarian Smithing can make one at a Barbarian anvil. This takes one steel bar and one willow log and gives 75 Smithing experience. Making spears this way requires finishing the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest.
