Description
Tuna is a food item in Old School RuneScape. Its item ID is 361. Players catch tuna with a harpoon at level 35 Fishing. It appears at Cage and Harpoon fishing spots along with swordfish.
Tuna is a low-tier fish. It does not heal a lot, and it does not give much Fishing experience. Most players do not fish for tuna on its own. It is more of an extra catch that comes while fishing for swordfish.
Tuna still has a real use. It is an ingredient in the tuna potato, a strong endgame food. Ironman players often save their tuna for this reason.
Free players can catch tuna at Musa Point on Karamja or in the Corsair Cove Resource Area. Members can fish at the Fishing Guild, which gives an invisible +7 Fishing boost, or at Land's End near a bank in south-east Kourend.
Buying tuna saves time. Catching it is slow, so skipping the grind lets players stock up fast. It works as cheap food for low-level training or as a supply of tuna potato ingredients for high-level cooking.
