Description
The Wizard hat is a classic piece of low level Magic gear in Old School RuneScape. It goes in the head slot and gives a +2 Magic attack bonus and a +2 Magic defence bonus. All other attack and defence bonuses are +0. It weighs 0.453 kg.
The hat comes in blue and black. Both colors have the same stats. You can turn a blue hat black by using black dye on it, and blue dye turns it back. Making one needs only level 1 Crafting and gives 2.5 XP.
This hat is a free-to-play item. It is tradeable, equipable, and noteable, but not stackable. It drops from Imps, Wizards, and the dark wizards south of Varrock. Shops like Betty's Magic Emporium in Port Sarim also sell it.
The blue hat is also handy for Treasure Trails. Some Easy and Medium clue steps ask you to wear it while doing emotes, like the Cheer emote at the stone circle in Taverley.
New mages and clue hunters both get good use from this simple hat. It is cheap, easy to wear, and one of the oldest items in the game.
