Description
The Avantoe seed is a members-only Farming item in RuneScape 3. Plant it in a herb patch to grow grimy avantoe. You need level 50 Farming to use this seed.
Each planting uses one seed and takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to grow. You get 54.5 Farming XP for planting and 61.5 XP for each herb you harvest. A fully grown plant gives at least 3 herbs. Compost raises that number. Ultracompost can push it up to 6 harvest lives. There is also a small chance to get harmony moss when you pick the herbs.
Herb patches cannot be watered, and a gardener will not watch the plant for you. Supercompost, ultracompost, or the Fertile Soil spell helps stop disease and boosts your yield. The Pharm Ecology relic power can stop disease in herb patches completely if you have 81 Archaeology.
Growing avantoe can be a good way to make profit while training Farming. The seed is tradeable and stackable, so it is easy to store in large amounts. It can also be handed in for a Menaphos City Quest.
