The black crossbow is a members-only ranged weapon in RuneScape 3. It needs level 25 Ranged to wield. It is more accurate than a steel crossbow, with tier 33 accuracy and 502 accuracy in combat. Its damage is capped at tier 25. The crossbow fires bolts and has an attack range of 7. Black bolts work with it.
This crossbow is a possible reward from easy Treasure Trails. Players cannot make it with the Fletching skill, which sets it apart from most crossbows. It is tradeable and noteable, and it weighs 5 kg. It can also be used to attack the tormented wraith.
The black crossbow is useful for Invention training too. Disassembling it gives 7.5 XP and always yields one Fortunate component. It can also give Connector parts, Tensile parts, Spiked parts, Stunning components, and Dextrous components. Fortunate components are rare, so this is a handy item to break down.
Unlike most black equipment, the black crossbow has no white crossbow counterpart. It is a solid pick for low-level rangers who want better accuracy than steel, and a smart buy for players hunting Invention materials.
