The steel crossbow is a Ranged weapon in RuneScape 3. It is stronger than the iron crossbow and needs a Ranged level of 20 to wield. It is a tier 20 main hand weapon with 316 accuracy and 192 ability damage. It fires bolts, has a range of 7, and attacks at the fastest speed.

This crossbow is also useful outside of combat. Players need a steel crossbow to build the hidey-hole in Lumbridge, next to the River Lum. It also has an off-hand version called the off-hand steel crossbow.

The steel crossbow is a free-to-play item. It is tradeable and noteable, and it weighs 2 kg. Players with level 46 Fletching can make one by adding a crossbow string to an unstrung steel crossbow, which gives 27 Fletching experience. It can also drop from the Black Guard crossbow dwarf.

For Invention users, the steel crossbow can be disassembled. It gives 8 materials, mainly connector parts, tensile parts, and spiked parts. It can also give rare stunning and dextrous components, which are useful for making gizmos.
