Bone bolts are a members-only ranged ammunition item in RuneScape 3. They are tier 28 bolts that need level 28 Ranged to use. Their damage bonus sits between steel bolts and mithril bolts, so they hit harder than steel for a low price.

These bolts are a smart pick for low level players. They are extra helpful in Ironman Mode. Making metal bolts from scratch takes Mining, Smithing, and Fletching levels. Bone bolts skip all that work.

Bone bolts work well with your other gear too. Ava's accumulator can pick them up after you shoot, and you can store them in a bolt pouch. The bolts are stackable and tradeable, so they take up just one spot in your bags.

You can also break them down. Disassembly takes 50 bolts at a time and gives 0.4 experience. Possible materials include base parts, head parts, spiked parts, and stunning components.

There is even an achievement tied to them. Bone I Fired asks you to defeat the Skeletal Horror while wielding Zanik's crossbow and using bone bolts. Grab a stack of bone bolts and give your low level ranger a real boost.
