Description

Burnt bones are an item in RuneScape 3 used to train the Prayer skill. They work just like regular bones but have a burnt look. Burying one gives 4.5 Prayer experience.

You can get more experience by using them in other ways. Offering them at a gilded altar or chaos altar gives 15.8 XP each. The Ectofuntus gives 18 XP each. Cremation gives Prayer XP plus Firemaking XP too.

Burnt bones are hard to gather on your own. They spawn in dangerous spots like the Demonic Ruins and Red Dragon Isle in the Wilderness, where player killers can attack you. Humans in The Zamorakian Undercity can also drop them. You cannot make them by burning regular bones on a fire.

These bones are also a fun piece of game history. Long ago, players used them in scams and sold them for high prices by claiming they were rare.

Players who use Invention can disassemble burnt bones. They give mostly Organic parts and sometimes Pious components. Burnt bones are a simple pick for Prayer training or for finishing a collection.
