Description

The Butterfly jar is a Hunter item in RuneScape 3. Players use it to hold butterflies they catch with the Hunter skill. It is a small jar with little holes in the top so the butterfly inside can breathe.

Once a butterfly is in the jar, you can use it on another player for a helpful boost. The effect depends on the butterfly. A ruby harvest raises the player's Attack. A sapphire glacialis raises their Defence. A snowy knight restores their life points. A black warlock raises their Strength. These boosts make jarred butterflies handy for helping teammates.

Butterfly jars can also be turned into impling jars if you take the right steps to convert them. Note that a butterfly jar cannot hold implings on its own. The jars are sold in the Hunter shops in Yanille, Taverley, and Nardah, and by the Hunter trader in Hollow Hill. You can also make one with one charge of a jar generator.

The jar weighs 0.02 kg and can be noted and traded. When disassembled, it mostly gives Simple parts, with a rare chance of Variable components.
