Description
Coal is a key resource in RuneScape 3. Players use it to smelt steel, mithril, and elemental bars at a furnace. These bars are then used with the Smithing skill to make armour and weapons. Coal can also heat a smithing autoheater, which keeps the heat up while smithing.
In the game, coal comes from mining coal rocks, which need level 20 Mining. Concentrated coal rocks in the Living Rock Caverns need level 70 Mining and give more coal per rock. Buying coal saves time, since gathering it by hand can be slow at lower Mining levels.
