Description

The Common white hen is a chicken for your player owned farm in RuneScape 3. This unchecked version is tradeable, so you can add it to your farm and check it when you are ready. You need level 28 Farming to raise it. This item is for members only.

The hen lives in a small pen and eats fruits, seeds, and vegetables. When you check it for produce, it gives 10 feathers and an egg every time. You also earn Farming XP as it grows through its child, adolescent, adult, and elder stages.

Hens are good for breeding too. The breeding cycle is 50 minutes with a 45% success chance. Breeding common chickens can lead to rare breeds like the Bandosian bantam hen, the Varrockian red hen, and the Oomlie hen.

Elder hens have a special use. Place one in a pen with a farm totem to gain the Headless Chicken perk. This gives a 3% chance to halve the feathers used when fletching arrows, darts, or bolts. A second elder hen in another pen with a totem raises that chance to 5%.
