The RS3 Crystal key is a members-only item that opens one of two crystal chests. One chest sits inside Ivy Sophista's house in Taverley. The other is in Iorwerth Hall in Prifddinas. Each chest has its own drop table. The key works once and disappears after use.
Every chest opening gives an uncut dragonstone plus other rewards. The Taverley chest pays out about 24,619 coins on average. The Prifddinas chest pays out about 22,641 coins on average and offers slightly better rewards overall. Both chests share a rare chance of 1 in 6,801 to drop dragonstone armour. This set includes the helm, hauberk, greaves, gauntlets, and boots. Wearing a ring of wealth improves your odds of better loot.
The Taverley chest needs no quest to use. The Prifddinas chest requires the Plague's End quest. A crystal key can be made from a tooth half and a loop half, but this key is already whole, so there is nothing to combine. The key is tradeable, noteable, and stackable when noted. It is a fast way to earn coins and chase rare dragonstone gear in RuneScape 3.
