Description
The crystal ward is a strong shield for mages in RuneScape 3. It is a tier 70 Magic shield that sits in the off-hand slot. It gives 297 armour, a 35 life points bonus, and a 7% damage reduction against monsters. This makes it a solid pick for magic combat and boss fights.
To wield the crystal ward, you need 70 Defence, 50 Agility, and the Roving Elves quest done. It is a members item.
The ward is degradable. It starts with 50,000 charges and uses two charges per hit in combat. Inside the elf city of Prifddinas, it only uses one charge per hit, so it lasts twice as long there. When all charges run out, it turns back into a crystal armour seed. A partly used ward can be recharged for a fraction of the creation cost.
The ward can also be augmented to make an Augmented crystal ward, which uses 25,000 combat charges. When disassembled, crystal items always give a special component, such as a crystal part, a Seren component, or a Faceted component.
