Dragon metal is an Archaeology material in RuneScape 3. It is a members-only item. Its examine text calls it "the fabled dragon metal, but still only scraps of it." It is tradeable and can be stored in the material storage container.

Players dig up dragon metal with level 73 Archaeology. It comes from material caches at the Ancient Cavern and at the Orthen Dig Site. It also comes from many excavation hotspots, ancient caskets, and archaeology professors at Daemonheim and Orthen. Higher Archaeology levels and better mattocks make digging faster.

Dragon metal is used to restore many artefacts. These include the Engraved ring of kinship, the Dragon burner, the Dragon scalpel, the Xolo pickaxe, the Xolo spear, the Raksha idol, and more. If you want to level Archaeology fast, having a stock of dragon metal saves you many hours of digging.

The item can also be disassembled. It gives Delicate parts, Organic parts, and Crafted parts most of the time. It has a 16 in 100 chance for Historic components and a 4 in 100 chance for Classic components. The base junk chance is 19.7 percent, and research can lower that number.
