The RS3 Dragon plateskirt is a crimson plate skirt worn in the leg slot. It is a tier 60 melee armour piece and needs 60 Defence to wear. It has the same stats as the dragon platelegs, so it protects your character just as well while looking a bit different.
In the game, this item drops from bronze, iron, steel, adamant, rune, and elite rune dragons. It is a rare drop, which makes it a slow item to get on your own. Buying one saves you many trips fighting dragons.
The plateskirt can also be changed with kits. Add a dragon platelegs/skirt ornament kit (or) to make a gold-trimmed version. Add the (sp) kit to make a spiky version. Add a dragonbone upgrade kit to make a dragonbone plateskirt. These kits only change the look. The stats stay the same.
For a long time, players wore the dragon plateskirt as a cheaper choice than dragon platelegs since both give the same bonuses. It is a solid pick for mid-level melee training and a classic piece of dragon armour in RuneScape 3.
