Description

Flax is a plant item in RuneScape 3. Players pick it from flax fields in places like Seers' Village, Taverley, and the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Its main use is making bowstring.

Take flax to a spinning wheel to spin it into bowstring. This trains Crafting and gives 15 Crafting experience per string. You only need level 1 Crafting to start. Players with level 81 Magic can use the Spin Flax spell to turn 5 flax into 5 bowstrings at once.

Bowstring is a key part of making bows in Fletching, so flax is always in demand. Flax has other uses too. You can put 5 flax on a loom to make an unfinished net. You can add it to a compost bin to make compost. You can also place it in a trough to make flowery mush or variety mush for feeding animals at the player-owned farm.

Buying RS3 flax in bulk saves hours of picking, since each piece must be picked by hand. With a big stack of flax, you can train Crafting fast and skip the slow field work.
