Description
Bowstring is an item in RuneScape 3 used in the Fletching skill. Players use it to string unstrung bows and turn them into finished weapons. It works on shortbows and shieldbows made from normal wood up to elder wood. It also works on the composite ogre bow and the eternal magic shortbow.
Bowstring is made by spinning flax on a spinning wheel. This needs level 1 Crafting and gives 15 Crafting experience per string. A full load of 28 flax gives 420 Crafting experience. Players with a Seers' headband 2 or higher spin 33% faster in Seers' Village.
The Spin Flax magic spell can also make bowstring. It needs level 81 Magic and the Dream Mentor quest. Each cast turns 5 flax into 5 bowstrings and gives Magic and Crafting experience.
Bowstring is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to buy, sell, and store in bulk. It is light at 0.014 kg. It is not stackable, but fungal bowstring is a stackable option. This item is a must for players who train Fletching or make bows to sell.
