Description
The iron bar is a metal bar in RuneScape 3. It is made with the Smithing skill by smelting two iron ore at a furnace. This needs level 10 Smithing and gives 2 Smithing experience. At level 14 the bar smelts 25% faster, and at level 17 it smelts 50% faster. From level 19 there is a chance to get an extra bar without using more ore.
Iron bars are used at an anvil to forge iron gear. This makes them a handy item for training Smithing or making early game equipment. Players can also smelt them with the Superheat Item spell, which needs level 43 Magic and gives 53 Magic experience plus the Smithing experience.
Iron bars can be disassembled for Invention. Each bar gives Simple parts most of the time or Crafted parts about a quarter of the time.
Iron bars are tradeable and can be noted. Each bar weighs 1.814 kg. They are free to play, so any RS3 player can use them. Buying iron bars saves time spent mining ore and smelting it yourself, so you can get right to training or crafting.
